This website was created by merging the capabilities of several open source website tools

1. The basic front end, or the framework, was built using Joomla! version 1.0.13.
2. The theme used is the vortex theme and was purchased from RocketTheme
3. The user community features were implemented with the Community Builder version 1.1 add-on for Joomla
4. The user contributions features, including contributions, resume, workgroup memberships, and voting, were custom built using the pattern employed by the community builder software
5. The discussion forum was implemented via extensive modifications to the phpBB2 bulleting board software to:
   1. Integrate the bulletin board with the joomla!/community builder user space
   2. Integrate the discussion board postings and documents with the server e-mail system (allowing users to interact with the discussion board via their e-mail client - for both send and recieve correspondence) and with the system's document management system to allow document distribution and versioning.
6. The document management component is implemented with the DOCman version 1.4.0 Joomla! add-on. Significant custom development was done to integrate this document management system with the server file system such that content ( documents ) can be managed on the server ( by an administrator ) simply by moving documents within the correct directory structure. The discussion component integrates with this document management component by storing recieved files in the appropriate place and can automatically version incoming content that are newer than existing content
